Koi Valley is located in Apple Valley, Minnesota.  The
name is relatively new, but our experience spans over fifty
years working with tropical and ornamental fish in
aquariums, as well as ponds.  This experience has been
put to good use in the last six years, as we began to
specialize in koi health, pond equipment, and supplies.
So, the products, medications, foods, and equipment listed
on this website are here because we believe in them and
use them ourselves.  If we haven’t used the product, you
won’t find it here.  If we don’t believe in it, you won’t find it
here.
About Us
Sometimes new elixirs are advertised as the cure-alls for parasites, as well as bacterial infections for koi.  The same
goes for certain equipment and supplies.  The more claims they make, the less likely they are to actually work.  So we
generally take new product introductions that make what seem to be unimpeachable claims with a grain of salt.  Time-
tested quality from the best manufacturers and distributors is almost always the way to succeed in keeping these
beautiful creatures.

We hope you visit us often. We stand ready to help you whether you’re just asking a question or have an interest in
something on our website.  Our relationship with collectors may begin with an inquiry but usually ends up in long
discussions over the wide array of varieties and qualities of koi.  Whether you desire a show quality specimen or that
special new “bauble” for your pond, we will share in your excitement and do everything we can to insure the health
and safety for your new addition.

All of our koi are quarantined for six weeks.  During that time, we treat them for parasites.  We use only the safest,
time-tested methods, and bacterial infections, if any, are treated with proven antibiotics and water column
medications to insure their health.  In addition, we draw blood samples from each and every new import for
serological testing using the Virus Neutralization method for detecting Koi Herpes Virus.  All samples are sent
overnight to the Infectious Diseases Laboratory, College of Veterinary Medicine, at the University of Georgia.  All
testing records are on file and although certain parts of the documentation must remain confidential, the actual test
results, as well as a pictorial record are available for any koi offered on the website.
